Braided Boho Vibes

Dear Diary,

Braids, Braids, Braids!! I'm not entirely sure at what moment french braids made their massive comeback but I feel like I've been seeing braids everywhere. I'll be honest, at first I wasn't feeling it, but it might have been because I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FRENCH BRAID!! I think I was secretly boycotting just because I didn't think I could do it or pull it off. The more I see you ladies rocking the french braids, the more I see anyone can wear this style and for that I got my mom, (thanks mom!) to give me some lessons and here's my take on the braided trend with a Boho twist!

I have to say, I love that braids show off our bright and beautiful faces! With this look, have fun with your makeup, especially on the eyes! Yesterday was the Met Gala and all of the celebs were sporting metallics. I am no professional makeup artist but I I had fun switching up my go to eye look with some metallic pigment color powder in 'Copper Sparkle' from MAC. I wet my brush with some of my Urban Decay 'All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray' to give it an extra boost.

For my short hair ladies, you can still rock this look! One of my fears was that my hair was too short for french braids. My hair length is just above my collar bone, so I opted for a french braided halo. Just do regular french braid ponytails but extend the french braid all the way to the nape of your neck, and the remaining hair (which will probably just be little sprouts) pin them into the opposing braids with some good ol' bobby pins!

I decided to take a boho spin with my braids and wore one of my favorite rompers that I got at the Melrose Trading Post! Ladies, if you haven't been there yet you are missing out! It's a weekly flee market on Sundays right on Melrose near the Grove in Los Angeles. The entrance is 3 bucks and the fashion and decor possibilities are endless! Such a fun outing with your best friend or even your mom for Mother's Day this Sunday!

*Side Note*  most of my accessories like my colored rings and earrings are from Forever 21, but this layered necklace is from my monthly Rocksbox! It's the 'Layered Disc Necklace' from Sophie Harper!
